Microsoft AI Teach Malaysia

Project Type
Social Innovation

Programme Brief

This program enable a strong ecosystem for people looking to upskill to harness the power of AI to improve employment and education outcomes.
To reinforce success through policy-driven initiatives and enhance regional visibility, our program focuses on effectively transferring knowledge from trained trainers to students. To support this, we’ve partnered with the ASEAN Foundation, engaging with the ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Education (SOM-ED) to provide policy-level support and enhance regional visibility. This collaboration aims to enhance regional capacity-building through educational exchanges and the promotion of ICT usage in education.

To further engage trainers and maximize program impact, we empower them to apply their expertise in Generative AI to their teaching approaches. This will assist students in maximizing the benefits of AI, enhancing their educational outcomes and industry preparedness. Trainers will participate in in-country and regional “Hackathons” to apply these approaches, fostering enthusiasm and innovation among trainers and students alike.

Programme Background

Enable a strong ecosystem for people looking to upskill to harness the power of AI to improve employment and education outcomes.

Reinforce success through policy driven and regional visibility.

The pivotal measure of success for the program lies in ensuring that the knowledge imparted to trained trainers is effectively transferred to the students. To bolster this effort, we have partnered with ASEAN Foundation to provide policy-level support and enhance regional visibility. This collaboration involves engagement with ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Education (SOM-ED), which comprises senior representatives, including SEAMEO High Officials, from the Ministries of Education/Higher Education across ASEAN Member States. Among their responsibilities is the enhancement of regional capacity-building through educational exchanges among teachers, faculty, staff, and students. This also encompasses training programs and the promotion of ICT usage in education.

Hackathon

Since trainers’ participation is crucial for the success of the program. We aim to generate enthusiasm among trainers by empowering them to apply their expertise in Generative AI to their teaching approaches to assist students in maximizing the benefits of AI, which, in turn, will enhance their education outcomes and preparedness for the industry as they transition into the workforce through in country and regional “Hackathon”.
