Programme Background

A highly impactful 3-day workshop to build strategic communication and advocacy skills of 80 regional NGO leaders and civil society advocates working in the areas of human trafficking, wildlife trafficking and environmental sustainability in ASEAN and Timor-Leste.

This program is fundamental in networking aspiring changemakers and local non-government organisations championing for a greater ASEAN region. Altogether, this program is a regional workshop aimed to elevate conversations to form a productive approach to ending anti-wildlife and anti-human trafficking and environmental conservation.

Equipping participants with skills necessary for traditional and new media development, and emerging technologies deployable at scale allowing them to use the resources at their disposal to further their causes. In the long run, we are developing a unified digital platform, allowing future leaders and regular citizens alike to access vital real-time information and find further ways to collaborate and help combat and eradicate the effects of these issues within the ASEAN region.

By leveraging on strong networks and regional partners, the programme will bring together these changemakers to engage with local NGOs and local champions in Sabah, building capacity for the work done within the state. Through this regional workshop, we will foster organic conversations about every participant’s work and the challenges they face, allowing each of these leaders to begin finding ways to work on collective issues affecting the region, together.
